Alessandra Louise G. Capricho, fondly called Louise, is a 4th Year Bachelor of Arts in Psychology student whose journey reflects persistence, empowerment, and purpose-driven leadership. Known for her strong commitment to service and community building, Louise has grown into a woman leader shaped by faith, responsibility, and a genuine desire to uplift others. Alessandra Louise G. Capricho, or Louise, is a 4th Year BA Psychology student who describes herself as persistent, empowered, and goal-oriented. Her journey toward Psychology began as early as Grade 4, inspired by her admiration for volleyball athlete Alyssa Valdez, who pursued the same course during college. What started as admiration eventually grew into a deeper calling. As Louise explored the field more closely, she realized that Psychology aligned not only with her interests but also with her desire to help others. The flexibility of the profession and its opportunities to serve people affirmed that this path was where her heart truly belonged.<\/span><\/p>

Throughout her college years, Louise\u2019s academic journey has been marked by dedication and perseverance. She is an Honor Scholar, a City of San Jose del Monte Scholar under the City Youth and Sports Development program, a Scholar of MCHS Batch 1984 for Academic Year 2023\u20132024, a Dean\u2019s Lister Awardee, and a recipient of the Natatanging Kabataan Award in 2022. Yet among all these recognitions, Louise considers being a scholar her greatest achievement. Coming from a family where financial stability required careful planning, maintaining her scholarship became her way of easing her parents\u2019 burden. For her, success is not measured by medals alone but by fulfilling the promise she made, to finish her education while supporting her family in the best way she could.<\/span><\/p>

Beyond academics, Louise has actively immersed herself in leadership and community engagement. She served as President of both the Second Year and Junior Year Councils, where she advocated for student concerns and helped initiate meaningful changes within the campus community. She later became the Internal Vice President of the School of Arts, Sciences, and Education under the Sanggunian ng mga Mag-aaral ng Miriam, supporting student organizations and strengthening collaboration among leaders. Her involvement extended beyond the university as she represented Miriam College in national leadership forums, environmental initiatives, and youth congresses. Through projects like Okay na Ukay and kaShowsyo, she also supported small businesses, reflecting her commitment to community empowerment.<\/span><\/p>

These experiences shaped Louise\u2019s understanding of what it means to be a woman leader in service. Leadership, for her, is not about authority but responsibility, the willingness to listen, guide, and stand beside others. Serving fellow students allowed her to become more grounded and aware of her role as both a scholar and an advocate. She shares that helping others has always been close to her heart, but the opportunities she received deepened her sense of purpose. With God\u2019s grace, she believes her talents were entrusted to her not for personal recognition, but to empower others as well.<\/span><\/p>

Louise lives out her advocacies through simple yet meaningful actions. When she first ran for a leadership position, she promised to be a friend to everyone. Listening to students\u2019 concerns and creating safe spaces where people feel heard became her way of extending her light to others. Whether within Miriam College or in the communities she encounters beyond campus, service has never felt like an obligation to her, it comes naturally from the heart.<\/span><\/p>

As a scholar since 2022 under the Honor Scholarship, alongside other scholarship grants, Louise considers her educational journey a shared victory with her family. The scholarship not only eased financial challenges but also opened doors to leadership opportunities, volunteer work, and personal growth. It taught her patience, perseverance, and gratitude. She learned that success is not solely rooted in intelligence but in the courage to take opportunities, embrace learning, and remain open to growth each day.<\/span><\/p>

Throughout her journey, Louise found strength in the people who supported her. Her parents provided unconditional encouragement without pressure, reminding her that love matters more than achievements. Her partner, Jamie, became a companion through moments of uncertainty, while her fellow scholars offered understanding and solidarity. She also credits mentors she lovingly calls her \u201cfairy godmothers\u201d in Miriam College, Doc Vicky, Ms. Rose, and Mother Leah, for guiding her whenever she felt lost. Above all, she learned the importance of rest and reflection, recognizing that pauses are necessary to reignite one\u2019s passion and continue moving forward.<\/span><\/p>

For Louise, life achievements are built on persistence and perspective. She believes that both victories and failures carry lessons that shape personal growth. Understanding one\u2019s priorities helps clarify direction, and progress\u2014no matter how small, is what truly matters. Each experience, whether at the peak or at the lowest point, becomes part of a journey that continuously moves her closer to her goals.<\/span><\/p>

Her advocacies center on mental health awareness, safe spaces, and strengthening communities. As a Psychology student, she actively promotes empathy and connection through the way she relates to others. She hopes that people who encounter her will feel supported and reassured that they are never alone in their struggles.<\/span><\/p>

Looking ahead, Louise plans to focus on her career while continuously exploring new opportunities for growth. She hopes to keep learning, trying unfamiliar paths, and embracing experiences that will further shape her as both a professional and an individual. Reflecting on Academic Year 2025\u20132026, she realized how far she has come, from doubting her abilities to recognizing her strength as a woman leader in service. Miriam College, she shares, helped shape her into someone fiercer, more resilient, and more confident in pursuing her dreams.<\/span><\/p>

Louise lives by the belief, \u201cWe are stronger than our fears.\u201d She acknowledges that fear and doubt are inevitable, especially during moments of change, but growth begins when one chooses courage over comfort. For her future self and for fellow dreamers, she offers this message:<\/span><\/p>

Dream big, trust yourself, and God will open the doors that are meant for you.<\/b><\/p>

May her journey continue to inspire others, a light that leads not only toward personal success, but toward service, compassion, and hope.<\/span><\/p>
