Marking the 90th year of Miriam College in 2016, it launched the Philippines’ First Integrated Makerspace, the Miriam College – Henry Sy, Sr. Innovation Center. In continuing the legacy of its founders and embracing innovation, it launched the campaign “Innovation at the heart of MC Education” and to support that, the center launched the President’s Challenge, a fun and exciting venue for members of the Miriam College community to think of innovative solutions to real-world problems. They take center stage as they design and implement projects that hone the 21st-century skills of creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication. With the help of industry experts and mentors, the President’s Challenge serves as a means for the institution to show that Miriam College is an empowering hub for trailblazers, rooted in our founders, the Maryknoll Sisters of New York.

Through the President’s Challenge, Miriam College is able to stay true to its mission of providing quality and relevant education that prepares students to become effective leaders, lifelong learners, and productive citizens. The competition allows students to apply what they have learned inside and outside the classroom by designing products, programs, and services that are beneficial to the Filipino people.
