{"id":3203,"date":"2024-09-26T06:25:28","date_gmt":"2024-09-26T06:25:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mc.edu.ph\/wagi\/?p=3203"},"modified":"2024-09-26T06:25:49","modified_gmt":"2024-09-26T06:25:49","slug":"greenpeace-southeast-asia-2022-partnership","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mc.edu.ph\/wagi\/blog\/uncategorized\/greenpeace-southeast-asia-2022-partnership\/","title":{"rendered":"Greenpeace Southeast Asia 2022 Partnership"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"zfr3Q CDt4Ke \" dir=\"ltr\"><span class=\"C9DxTc \">In 2022, the Miriam College &#8211; Women and Gender Institute (MC-WAGI) conducted a series of learning sessions and events with Greenpeace Southeast Asia (GPSEA) to further establish a culture of Justice, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Safety within GPSEA\u2019s organization.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"zfr3Q CDt4Ke \" dir=\"ltr\"><strong><span class=\"C9DxTc \">Townhall on Diversity &amp; Inclusion and Technical Working Group\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"zfr3Q CDt4Ke \" dir=\"ltr\"><span class=\"C9DxTc \">Greenpeace Southeast Asia and the Miriam College &#8211; Women and Gender Institute held a Townhall on Diversity &amp; Inclusion last August 2022 via Zoom Communications Platform. The event was held to cascade the results of GPSEA-WAGI\u2019s 2021 Diversity &amp; Inclusion Survey, along with its conclusions and recommendations. The townhall resulted in the establishment of a technical working group with key stakeholders and participants to further identify needs and recommendations to address the gaps within GPSEA\u2019s organization.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"zfr3Q CDt4Ke \" dir=\"ltr\"><span class=\"C9DxTc \">The Townhall on Diversity &amp; Inclusion and the technical working group were both facilitated by MC-WAGI Faculty Associates, Prof. Pacita \u201cBing\u201d Fortin and Dr. Tesa Casal De Vela.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"zfr3Q CDt4Ke \" dir=\"ltr\"><strong><span class=\"C9DxTc \">Cultural Transformation Journey\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"zfr3Q CDt4Ke \" dir=\"ltr\"><span class=\"C9DxTc \">The Cultural Transformation Journey was held last November 2022 via Zoom Communications Platform, and was facilitated by Sir Roger Ricafort, External WAGI Associate. The event consisted of learning sessions that guided GPSEA in formulating the kind of culture that would best fit the organization\u2019s needs in line with their objectives and principles. The participants were then engaged in learning about the processes and practices that cultures could be instilled and promoted within their organization.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"zfr3Q CDt4Ke \" dir=\"ltr\"><strong><span class=\"C9DxTc \">Gender-Fair and Inclusive Environment in the Workplace\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"zfr3Q CDt4Ke \" dir=\"ltr\"><span class=\"C9DxTc \">The Miriam College &#8211; Women and Gender Institute conducted a learning session on Gender-Fair and Inclusive Environment in the Workplace for Greenpeace Southeast Asia, held last November 28-29, 2022 in Jakarta, Indonesia.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"zfr3Q CDt4Ke \" dir=\"ltr\"><span class=\"C9DxTc \">The learning sessions discussed diversity in the context of identity and social spaces, principles on building an inclusive and diverse culture, diversity and inclusion practices, and re-imagining a gender-fair, diverse, inclusive, and safe workplace.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"zfr3Q CDt4Ke \" dir=\"ltr\"><span class=\"C9DxTc \">The sessions were facilitated by MC-WAGI Faculty Associates, Prof. Pacita \u201cBing\u201d Fortin and Prof. Lorna Q. Israel.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"zfr3Q CDt4Ke \" dir=\"ltr\"><strong><span class=\"C9DxTc \">Unconscious Biases in the Workplace\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"zfr3Q CDt4Ke \" dir=\"ltr\"><span class=\"C9DxTc \">Lastly, the Miriam College &#8211; Women and Gender Institute wrote and produced a 3-part video series on unconscious biases in the workplace as part of GPSEA\u2019s onboarding employee orientation. The video defined and discussed the different kinds of unconscious biases, examples of how they manifest in the workplace, and how to deal and engage with these embedded biases.
