BASIC EDUCATION PROGRAMS

Real-world context, real-life experiences

At the Basic Education Unit, we will make learning personal and relatable, connecting the curriculum to themes in the local context and environment. The aim is to keep young learners engaged, promote an understanding of the world around them, and make them see how, in their own little way, they can impact their communities. Through co- and extra-curricular activities, we will produce students who are:

  • Confident and happy learners
  • Compassionate individuals
  • Committed citizens and Christians

Kindergarten

Nurturing happy, compassionate, and confident young learners is at the heart of our curriculum for Kindergartners. Place-based learning will be complemented with design thinking where children are taught to use empathy in solving simple problems and carrying out developmentally appropriate projects. Lessons will be thematic and revolve around the following themes:
  • Myself
  • My Family
  • My School
  • My Community
  • More Things around Me

GRADES 1-4

Grade School

Traditional subjects such as Christian Living Education, English, Filipino and Math will be taught matching real-world context and real-life experiences. Place-based learning will be complemented with project-based approach to teaching, where students are engaged in real-world projects. The aim is to encourage inquiry, promote critical thinking and problem solving, and make students realize how their work can create a meaningful impact on their community.
