“Where Heart Finds Her Way”
Heart Lynzxei F. Glodo, or simply Heart, is a 1st Year BA Psychology student who describes herself as a leader, empathetic, and confident. Ever since she was in Grade 7, Heart already knew she wanted to take Psychology. She’s always been the type to observe, understand, and listen to people, so her friends and family would often tell her that this path fits her naturally. After realizing that BA Psychology focused more on the subjects she truly connected with, she chose it with a clear purpose: one day, she hopes to guide others through counseling or eventually pursue law.
Before coming to Miriam College, Heart spent three years in the FEUR Gazette Marikina, where she served as a secretary, photojournalist, editor, and even host. That organization became her second home, a place that strengthened her love for writing and communication. Now, she continues that journey in Talitha Cumi, where she actively volunteers and even received the Head Turner Award during the first General Assembly. For Heart, these experiences did not just teach skills, they shaped her discipline, confidence, and empathy. They taught her how to show up, listen with intention, and use her abilities to serve.
As a scholar under the Financial Aid Program, Heart feels deeply grateful. The scholarship allows her to study without carrying the heaviness of financial worry, giving her space to focus on learning and growing. It also motivates her to keep doing her best, not just for herself, but for the people who support and believe in her. Her family plays a big role here. They remind her, gently and consistently, that if something is meant for her, God will open the way. Her friends, meanwhile, are her safe place, where she is seen, understood, and supported.
Since childhood, Heart believed that being smart and approachable was enough to be accepted by others. But as she matured, she realized that true happiness comes from finding peace and confidence within herself rather than seeking validation from others. Her achievements hold deep meaning because they are not just symbols of success, they represent her strength, effort, and self-belief. Each milestone serves as a reminder of her resilience and determination to rise above challenges. For Heart, every achievement is proof that growth comes from trusting yourself and choosing to keep going despite the odds.
Heart’s advocacies center around kindness, mental wellness, and supporting others emotionally. She lives out these advocacies by using her skills in communication and empathy to help those around her. Whether it’s guiding classmates through difficult lessons or offering comfort to friends who are struggling, Heart believes that small acts of care can spark big changes. She finds joy in sharing what she knows and inspiring others to see their own potential. For her, spreading kindness and understanding is one of the most meaningful ways to serve others.
Looking ahead, Heart hopes to continue growing both academically and personally. She dreams of pursuing a career in counseling, where she can create a safe and supportive space for people to heal and grow. She also plans to take a master’s degree in counseling to deepen her knowledge and become more equipped to guide others. In the long run, she aspires to become a professor in psychology to share her insights and experiences with future students. Through these goals, Heart hopes to make a lasting impact on others’ lives by helping them understand themselves better and find strength in their journeys.
As a scholar this Academic Year 2025–2026, Heart has experienced many lessons that shaped her outlook on life. She learned that growth sometimes means letting go of people or things that no longer align with her peace. It’s a process of choosing faith over fear, peace over pressure, and self-belief over doubt. She has realized that every challenge brings a lesson, and every loss brings new strength. Guided by her faith, Heart reminds herself to pray and trust God’s timing whenever life feels uncertain. She knows she is still young, and that life’s journey is long, but each step she takes brings her closer to who she is meant to be.
Heart’s guiding principle in life is the saying, “Kung para sa’yo ‘yan, ibibigay ni Lord ‘yan.” This simple yet powerful reminder strengthens her faith and keeps her grounded through every season of life. She also finds inspiration in the quote, “Freedom is the oxygen of the soul.” It encourages her to stay true to herself, express her individuality, and live freely with purpose.
To her future self and to other dreamers, Heart shares this message:
Keep believing, keep praying, and never lose hope, because what’s meant for you will always find its way.
May her journey continue to shine with faith, courage, and compassion—the light she carries and shares with the world.
