Framing leadership as moving away from the ego and moving towards the eco (system), the Council of Asian Liberals and Democrats (CALD), in partnership with the Southeast Asian Women’s Watch (SEAWWatch) and the Miriam College – Women and Gender Institute (MC-WAGI), co-organized the 2nd Asian Women & Youth Education for Transformative Leadership Workshop held in Taipei, Taiwan last September 7-8, 2023.
The two-day workshop discussed key concepts on transformative-generative leadership, women’s rights advocacy and the Beijing Platform for Action, defining political spaces and the influence of culture and power, and political positioning.
Among the resource persons for the sessions were Prof. Aurora Javate – De Dios, Dr. Patricia B. Licuanan, Prof. Lorna Q. Israel, and Dr. Mira Alexis P. Ofreneo. The workshop was moderated and facilitated by MC-WAGI Faculty Associates, Dr. Tesa Casal De Vela and Prof. Pactia “Bing” Fortin.
