The Women and Gender Institute (WAGI) provided an advocacy orientation to the incoming teachers and students for the Miriam College Skills Development and Technical Education Center (MC SDTEC) via Zoom on July 25 with the faculty members and in-person orientation on August 2 with the students from Grade 7 to Grade 12.Â
The session was led by Ms. Shenina Badua and Ms. Lesley Abuel which covered important topics on Gender Sensitivity, Basic Gender concepts, Gender Perspectives and Practices, and Gender Issues. The Safe Spaces primer of Miriam College was presented to the teachers and students to provide them with a detailed guide in creating a safe space and fostering inclusivity for students, employees, and members of the school community within the campus. Â
