Our Purpose
The purpose of Human Resources (HR) is multifaceted, encompassing key functions that drive the overall success of Miriam College.
HR plays a vital role in identifying, attracting, and hiring the right talent to fulfill the organization’s staffing needs. This involves developing effective recruitment strategies, conducting interviews, and managing the onboarding process.
HR is responsible for designing and implementing programs that enhance employees’ skills, knowledge, and abilities. This includes training initiatives, career development opportunities, and performance management systems that support continuous growth.
HR acts as a mediator between employees and management, addressing issues such as grievances, disputes, and disciplinary actions. We strive to foster positive employee relations and cultivate a supportive work environment.
HR manages Miriam College’s compensation and total rewards programs, ensuring they are competitive, equitable, responsive and aligned with the organization’s goals and budget.
HR develops and communicates policies and procedures that govern employee behavior and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations. This includes policies related to ethics, diversity, harassment prevention, and safety.
HR oversees the performance management process, which includes goal-setting, feedback provision, and performance evaluations. We also assist in identifying and addressing performance issues through coaching and targeted interventions.
HR collaborates with senior leadership to align HR strategies with Miriam College’s overall goals and objectives. This may involve workforce planning, succession planning, and organizational restructuring to support growth and adaptation.
HR is responsible for succession management, ensuring that there is a robust pipeline of talent ready to step into key roles as needed. This includes identifying high-potential employees, providing development opportunities, and planning for future leadership needs.
HR is dedicated to creating a positive employee experience and fostering a culture of engagement and retention. This includes initiatives that recognize and reward employees, promote work-life harmony, and address turnover factors.
