MASTER OF EDUCATION IN
Curriculum and Teaching with Specialization in 21st Century Learning
The Master of Education in Curriculum and Teaching (with Specialization in 21st Century Learning) Program challenges education professionals to reexamine theories, structures, and practices in curriculum and instruction in order to plan and provide learning opportunities fit for a fast-paced, competitive, technology-driven society. It culminates in a capstone project that focuses on 21st century principles applied in the student’s field of practice.
Program Goals
Anchored on 21st century frameworks, this program aims to produce 21st century teachers who have developed the following:
- Â An in-depth understanding of emerging global literacies
- Competencies in the innovation and utilization of emerging classroom technologies
- Sensitivities towards diversity that lead to more effective collaborative efforts in education
- Strong theoretical and practical knowledge on curriculum design, development, and evaluation in formal, informal, and online learning environments
- An understanding of instructional designs and models related to 21st century education

This course enhances your skills in analyzing curriculum designs and curriculum development models.
This course provides opportunities for you to analyze instructional theories, instructional design models, and instructional approaches.
This course allows you to analyze current issues in Education and its effects on teaching and learning.
This course prepares you to teach 21st Century learners by examining different theoretical frameworks and exploring pedagogical strategies that would address their various needs.
This course trains you to analyze, construct, and evaluate pedagogical environments fit for 21st Century classrooms.
This course immerses you in ICT-based tools that have the potential to enhance your own teaching practice.
This course underscores the use of authentic problem-solving principles to engage students and enrich their learning experiences.
Here, you get to learn about design principles and how they can be applied within the context of Education. It aims to provide both a theoretical and practical roadmap for identifying challenges, generating possible solutions, refining, and implementing these ideas.
This course engages you in a critical survey of methods in educational research and data analysis techniques appropriate for teacher research, setting of research directions and identification of research ideas in education.
This program is implemented using a modular delivery mode and qualifies students to take the Licensure Examination for Teachers

The Special Project is practice-based and is accomplished as you take the different specialization courses. You are assigned to a mentor and an adviser (content and process specialists) who will closely supervise the process of project-making and writing of the paper.
Students who are not currently teaching will be immersed in partner schools.
