Entrepreneurship and Innovation
The Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship and Innovation will provide students with entrepreneurial skills set to transform an idea into a successful business model that will deliver new business value by finding creative and innovative solutions to real-world challenges. This program will develop the student’s creative thinking, innovative resourcefulness, curiosity, open-mindedness, critical thinking, and interdisciplinary and experiential learning capabilities. It will employ the entrepreneurial process through design thinking from self-inventory to market launch. It shall engage students in community involvement, immersion programs, workshops and seminars, and exposure trips that will bridge their learnings into practice to actual ventures.
Entrepreneurship and Innovation equips individuals with the knowledge, skills, and mindset needed to succeed in today’s dynamic and ever-changing world. Whether one aims to start their own business, work in a startup, or drive innovation within an existing organization, understanding entrepreneurship is invaluable.

The BS Entrepreneurship program applies MC’s core values of truth, justice, peace, and integrity of creation in all aspects of the learning journey where they exhibit professional, social, and ethical responsibility in preserving and promoting Filipino historical and cultural heritage.
The BS Entrepreneurship students are provided with meaningful learning experience through Business Centers and Venture Incubation Laboratories that expose students to hands-on business operations because Miriam College, we believe in Learning by Doing.
As one of the first educational institutions that offered a BS Entrepreneurship program, we take pride in providing excellent teaching and learning experiences to our students. Our BS Entrepreneurship program is also recognized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) as a CHED Center of Excellence and is Level IV accredited from the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges, and Universities (PAASCU).
What Will I Study?
The BS Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Miriam College offers a transdisciplinary, practice-based, and comprehensive curriculum.
Here’s a glimpse of what you can expect to study:
You’ll delve into core subjects such as entrepreneurship, innovation, technology accounting, finance, marketing, and operations management, providing a strong business and entrepreneurial foundation.
Explores a) innovation and technological advancements and processes; b) their critical issues pertaining to the products and new discoveries, development, its diffusion; c) how these are managed effectively and sustainably, in both start-up and established firms; and
d) the frameworks for assessing and analyzing new technologies and business opportunities. This aims to develop student’s analytical skills to enable them to respond to the challenges of making innovative management decisions. Cases and research on innovations under the major track of BS Entrepreneurship and its related industries will be studied. The lessons learned shall
help students apply them to their own venture startup plans or projects.
Provides the introductory framework of the business environment through the study of the market behavior of the consumer and the firm and their interactions in the market. It discusses the mechanisms by which resources are allocated, prices determined, and income distribution. It concentrates on the explanation and evaluation of the operation of the price policy system as it regulates production, distribution, and consumption.
Introduces the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, principles and theories, and its role in economic development. Topics include the: historical development of the Filipino entrepreneurial economy in relation to other societies or countries both developed and
developing; the entrepreneurial mindset, character, values, attitudes, and motivation; the 21st century skills and entrepreneurial competencies; success factors; risk, challenges, and rewards; the supportive ecosystem to include government assistance and programs for entrepreneurship
development; introduction to innovation and creative thinking skills and models; as well as
trends, development and emerging models in social and technopreneurship among others.
Presents the various theories and approaches to provide a holistic picture of the venture formation process. It provides the knowledge and tools in identifying business
opportunities, challenges, risks, or threats as part of their enterprise planning. The course is an
application of various creative and innovative thinking tools, models, and techniques in a series
of opportunity and ideation processes, research, exploration, prototyping, and goal setting.
These shall equip them to come up with creative solutions to problems, or the challenge to disrupt convention; new products and services; and/ or social development ventures that
address the society’s problems or needs; identify trends and opportunities that consider its
global competitiveness and sustainability. This whole learning process is documented in a
business model canvas and plan brief. At the end of the course, students present their idea
and/ or product pitch to a panel of judges or experts for critiquing and evaluation and in Preview 1 for product and market tests.
The specialized courses offered are carefully curated to align with the specific venture needs or interest of students, ensuring that students can tailor their learning experience to their chosen field of study.
