School Based Program for Mental Health
The certificate program will focus on promoting mental wellness, preventing mental health problems and providing intervention and treatment. The program is designed to give participants an option to have courses credited for a Master in Education in relevant programs (Curriculum and Teaching, Inclusive Education, Guidance, Counselor Education etc.). Participants of the Certificate Program may be school administrators, educators, guidance counselors, student mentors, parents and community workers who may facilitate early identification, prevention and intervention then refer the case to the school counselor.

What Will I Study?
This course provides practical knowledge on Mental Health Awareness and teaching strategies for a positive psychology in the curriculum via PERMA
This course is has a multidisciplinary approach in the study of developmental changes
This course exposes the student to different coaching techniques used in the school setting both for individual or group coaching.
This course exposes the student to Instructional approaches, methods and designs that support student well- being. The role of the family and community as partners of the school will also be explored.

This course examines contemporary approaches and trends in the field of mental health as applied in the school setting. Mental health first aid (MHFA) and Ethical guidelines will also be discussed.
