Competencies:

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs circulation counter duties, such as charging in and out of books, registration of new patrons, processing of overdue fines and book reserves, reservation of discussion rooms, and issuance of locker keys and Internet card.
  • Answers directional questions and routine inquiries, assist patrons locate materials, and refers library patrons in need of professional assistance to librarians.
  • Shelve books and other library materials and reads shelves.
  • Does the processing of newly acquired books and other library materials: stamping, labeling, pasting of date due slip and book pocket, placing security strip, covering books, etc.
  • Cleans, browse, and filters files of each computer workstations every end of the week.
  • Provides assistance to the librarians in the maintenance of collections of books, periodicals, and other materials.
  • Conducts regular inventory and weeding of materials.
