Welcome to
HEU Guidance and Counseling Office
The HEU Guidance and Counseling Office delivers services through Telebehavioral Health Technology, where the usual standards of care applied by Guidance Counselors when working with students still apply utilizing digital platforms that provide secure messaging to connect with a student.
It aims to develop holistic, empowered, and emotionally healthy students who can give meaning and direction to their own lives and become productive Christians and members of society while facing the challenges of the times. The office guides students by:
- Heightening awareness of themselves and others
- Developing their confidence so they can take on responsibilities for their personal growth
- Promoting social involvement, peace, justice and concern for the environment integrating these values in their lives
What We Do
Counseling
Counseling is available to help students adjust to college life, make important life decisions, strengthen their inner self, and undertake the task of working towards positive change. Students who avail of individual counseling are encouraged to apply for an online appointment.
PSYCHOLOGICAL TESTING
Psychological tests are administered annually to aid counselors in assisting undergraduate students regarding their interests, values, aptitudes, attitudes, intellectual capabilities, and individual career needs. There is a link where enrolled students can access the testing platform.
PREVENTION AND WELLNESS ACTIVITIES
These are designed to address the needs of students based from the latest results of the Needs Assessment Survey (NAS). Themes on self-development may be conveyed through webinars, technology assisted activities, learning materials, or videos.
EMPATHY CIRCLE
This is a form of group counseling and psychosocial support that can be available for a group of five to eight individuals at a given virtual time.
