The Sports Psychology session titled “Breaking Barriers — Understanding Self and Team Through Sports” was successfully conducted with Ms. Panjie Angela D. Legaspi, RPm as the resource speaker. Student-athletes from the basketball, futsal, and volleyball teams attended the session, which aimed to enhance their understanding of the mental and emotional aspects of sports and teamwork.
The session left the athletes with powerful insights and takeaways that they can apply both on and off the court:
Shifting from a fixed to a growth mindset
Understanding the importance of goal setting
Moving “From Me to We” to build a strong team culture
Creating team rituals that strengthen trust and connection
Aligning shared goals with individual roles
Turning the “Impossible” into “Difficult” — and eventually achievable
Asking not “What if” but “What now” to stay focused and resilient
Through engaging discussions and reflective sharing, Ms. Legaspi inspired the athletes to embrace self-awareness, teamwork, and perseverance as essential elements of success in sports and in life.
