Miriam College (MC) today unveiled the MC100 logo, officially marking the beginning of activities and preparations leading to the institution’s centennial celebration in September 2026.

The unveiling was held at the campus grounds in Loyola Heights, Quezon City and was led by MC President, Amb. Laura Quiambao-Del Rosario. In attendance were members of the MC community, parent officers, alumni, and representatives from partner communities and nearby schools.

The MC100 logo takes inspiration from the interwoven history of Maryknoll-Miriam College. It is reminiscent of a flat thread, symbolizing the beginnings of a tapestry that, when woven together, reveals the institution’s storied past that brought the institution to where it is today. The front side of the thread bears the official colors of all three Miriam College campuses—blue for Loyola Heights, green for Nuvali, and turquoise for Alviera. Underneath each color flows the school’s signature gold to signify that all are connected by the same vision, mission, and core values.

The Chi Rho symbol is placed inside the last digit of the number 100, signifying the commitment and devotion of Miriam College to bring “Christ to the world and the world to Christ” in the next years to come.

The anniversary theme, “Celebrating 100 years of Maryknoll education through Miriam College” and the official hashtag, #MCat100, was also announced during the launch.

“True to our MC100 anniversary theme, we will celebrate the many milestones that led us to where the institution is today. We will highlight the legacy of our Maryknoll founders, the impact of their brand of education on generations of students especially women, and the journey that led from Maryknoll to Miriam,” said Amb. Quiambao-Del Rosario. “And while anniversaries are usually a time of looking to the past, we will definitely be celebrating the promising future of the institution as it anticipates the opening of its third campus in Porac, Pampanga in 2024,” she added.

The unveiling of the logo will be followed by a series of activities that will be held throughout the campus in the coming months. Among the activities are a bazaar, countdown to 1000 days, and the annual Panunuluyan to kick-off the campus’s Christmas celebration.

The school also has an ongoing fundraising project with the goal of raising Php100 Million Endowment Fund by 2026 for faculty development and student scholarships.

Maryknoll/Miriam College was founded by the Maryknoll Sisters of New York in 1926. It traces its earliest roots in Malabon, where the Sisters put up the Malabon Normal School, now St. James Academy. From Malabon, the school relocated several times until it found a permanent home in Diliman Quezon City. The Maryknoll Sisters ran the school for the first 50 years and transferred its leadership to a lay administration in 1976. The school was eventually renamed Miriam College in 1989.

Today, the Maryknoll brand of education of forming “confident, conscientious, and competent” students continues through Miriam College.
