From November 24–28, 2025, the Miriam College High School Library and Media Center (LMC) celebrated Library Media Week under the theme “Tulay ang Pagbasa sa Bukas na Puno ng Pag-asa.” This annual event, aligned with National Book Week and Reading Month, highlighted the power of literature and creativity as pathways to hope and knowledge.
The celebration featured vibrant activities designed to spark imagination and deepen the love for reading. Pre-events included Bookmark Making, the Poet Tree, a Book Exhibit, and the Read It Forward book donation drive—each encouraging artistic expression and community sharing.
Highlights of the week included an inspiring talk by award-winning poet Paolo Miguel Tiausas, who shared insights on metaphor and gifted free copies of his works to students and faculty. The five-day Open Mic event showcased original poetry, storytelling, and performances, transforming the library into a hub of creativity. Notably, students from the Skills Development and Technical Education Center (SDTEC) actively participated, reflecting LMC’s commitment to inclusivity.
Complementary activities such as the Book Fair, Café by the Library (a collaboration with SDTEC), film screenings, and the Battle of the Bookworms added excitement and engagement. The week concluded with recognition for enthusiastic readers and volunteers who consistently support library initiatives.
Library Media Week 2025 stood as a testament to the collective effort of the MCHS community—proving that reading is not just a habit but a bridge to a future full of hope.
