The Bachelor of Science in International Business Administration with specialization in Human Resource Management and Leadership provides students with a solid foundation in operational and strategic Human Resource Management professional practice. A unique feature of the program is its emphasis on leadership, and the role that Human Resources practitioners play in leading and influencing organizational performance. Applied learning experiences rooted in Human Resources principles are an integral component of this program. Students are encouraged to take advantage of the opportunities available to them to participate in an optional applied work experience during their program of study. Students of this program will graduate with a Bachelor of Science in International Business Administration with specialization in Human Resource Management and Leadership jointly awarded by Camosun College and Miriam College.

  • Train students to advise on and steer the application of HR legislation, practices, and ethical standards within organizations.
  • Develop the ability to operationalize policies and initiatives that foster human resource development and sustainability.
  • Prepare students to provide leadership crucial for achieving organizational objectives and to evaluate and implement strategic initiatives effectively.
  • Provide students with the tools to apply effective interpersonal skills when engaging with diverse individuals, groups, and communities.
  • Instill integrity by demonstrating ethical and professional behavior integral to human resource management.

What Will I Study?

At the completion of the program students will be able to:

Demonstrate Miriam College's core values to seamlessly blend Filipino cultural principles with a global perspective, enabling adept leadership, authentic engagement, and selfless service to diverse communities
Integrate business and leadership concepts, theories, and principles in a range of management environments and roles.
Use analytical and critical thinking skills to make decisions in an organization.
Develop, implement and evaluate an organization’s human resource management principles and strategies.
Advise and guide the development and implementation of Human Resources legislation, practices, standards and policies.
Operationalize policies, procedures and initiatives that support the development of human resources.
Provide leadership in the accomplishment of organizational goals and the development, implementation and evaluation of strategy.
Apply concepts and principles of effective interpersonal competency to interactions with diverse individuals, groups, organizations and communities.
Conduct oneself with integrity by demonstrating ethical and professional behaviour as a human resources leader.
Demonstrate and model professional and ethical behaviour as a marketing professional.

This dual awards program is jointly offered by Miriam College and Camosun College, Victoria British Columbia, Canada

Career Paths

Graduates are employed in private and public organizations as HR specialists or generalists. Assuming a variety of roles including that of HR advisors, managers, directors and supervisors.
