KRISTINE MARIE S. LESACA-SALUDEZ, PhD

GRADE SCHOOL PRINCIPAL

Kristine Marie S. Lesaca-Saludez is the Grade School Principal of Miriam College, where she provides visionary leadership in fostering a learner-centered, values-driven, and academically enriching educational environment. With over 20 years of extensive experience in elementary education, she is dedicated to nurturing the holistic development of every child through innovative teaching, holistic formation, meaningful partnerships with families, and a strong commitment to educational excellence.

An alumna of the Child Study Center (1984), Grade School (1991), and High School (1995), Ms. Lesaca-Saludez joined Miriam College in immediately after graduating with an AB in Interdisciplinary Studies (Education, Psychology, and Management cluster) from the Ateneo de Manila University. She finished an MA in Education major in Basic Education from the same university and graduated with a PhD in Organizational Development and Planning from the Southeast Asia Interdisciplinary Development Institute.

At Miriam College, Ms. Lesaca-Saludez has taught Reading and Language in Grades 3, 5, and 6 and college courses such as Reading and Storytelling and Measurement and Evaluation under the education department. She served as Grade 5 Level Coordinator, Documentarian, Assistant Principal for Student Affairs, and Assistant Principal for Academic Affairs (OIC).

Ms. Lesaca-Saludez works toward cultivating learning communities that promote student well-being, faculty development, the improvement of processes and systems, and curriculum innovation. She believes that education should cultivate not only academic achievement but also compassion, critical thinking, leadership, and a lifelong love of learning and continuous improvement – skills needed in this VUCA-BANI world.

As Grade School Principal, she continues to uphold the school’s mission of forming confident, balanced, well-grounded, happy, kind, and socially aware children who are prepared to contribute positively to their communities and the wider world when they grow up.

Ms. Sofia Soledad DG. De Guzman is a passionate educator and school leader committed to transformative education, with particular advocacy in language and literacy education, innovative teaching and learning, student well-being, and girls’ education.
 
She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication from the University of the Philippines Diliman, followed by a Master of Arts in Language and Literacy Education from the University of the Philippines Open University, where she deepened her expertise in English language education, literacy, and blended and distance learning. She also completed a second master’s degree in Designing Education through a scholarship under the Transnational Program of the Philippines and the United Kingdom jointly offered by Miriam College and Goldsmiths, University of London, strengthening her commitment to curriculum and instructional innovation, design and development. 
 
With more than two decades of service at Miriam College, Ms. De Guzman has held various leadership positions, including Grade Level Coordinator, English Subject Area Supervisor, Department Chair for Arts and Humanities, Basic Education Unit Innovation Coordinator, and Assistant Principal for Student Affairs. Throughout her career, she has championed curriculum innovation, teacher development, and programs that promote holistic student formation.
 
An accomplished author, Ms. De Guzman has written and co-authored textbooks for elementary, junior high school, and senior high school, reflecting her longstanding commitment to advancing quality education and literacy in the Philippines.
 
She currently serves as Principal of Miriam College High School, where she leads the school community in fostering academic excellence, values formation, innovative learning, and the empowerment of young women to become competent, compassionate, and socially responsible leaders.
