Welcome to the
Basic Education Unit
Miriam College Grade School (MCGS) is a second home to children from preschool to pre-adolescent age. It offers a 9-level educational program for the formative years, starting from early childhood (First Step, Nursery, and Kindergarten) to Grade 6
The curriculum promotes active and meaningful learning to develop 21st century skills and competencies through a progressive educational philosophy, which is characterized by putting students at the center of the learning process and supported by a strong sense of community between students, teachers, and parents.
Lessons become more relevant as they are anchored on an environmental or societal context and linked to character and values formation. Through integration, students are able to find connections to real-world applications and develop empathy, compassion, and globally-responsive citizenship. By focusing on holistic and multidimensional development, the Grade School produces confident and happy learners.
