Miriam College High School’s K.U.S.A. (Keep, Use, Save, Act) program is a student-led initiative that promotes responsibility, sustainability, and active participation within the school community. Linked to the House Cup system, sections and batches earn points based on teacher evaluations, encouraging teamwork and accountability.
Through K.U.S.A., students practice everyday actions that make a big impact: maintaining clean and organized spaces, conserving water and electricity, using resources wisely, and following safety protocols. These habits foster a culture of integrity and care for creation, contributing to a healthier campus and community.
Aligned with SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, K.U.S.A. emphasizes sustainable systems and resource efficiency. Students are encouraged to use reusable containers, tumblers, and utensils, and to segregate waste properly—simple innovations that reduce waste and promote sustainability. Organized, functional spaces and infrastructure reinforce responsible practices and prepare students to value sustainable development in their daily lives.
In partnership with the Student Council, K.U.S.A. integrates these principles into the school culture. By living the motto—Keep, Use, Save, Act responsibly—students embody the values of innovation, environmental stewardship, and collective action, making a meaningful contribution to building sustainable communities.
