Miriam College High School – Loyola Heights Senior High School proudly held its 3rd Students’ Investigation on Problems, Advancements, and Trends (SIPAT) last March 23, 2026, the unit’s annual research colloquium for Miriam College High School Senior High School students that highlights its unwavering commitment to cultivating a strong, inclusive, and dynamic research culture among senior high school students. This event is a project of MCHS-SHS Loyola Heights courses: Oral Communication, Reading and Writing, Practical Research 1, Practical Research 2, and Pagbasa at Pagsusuri ng Iba’t Ibang Teksto Tungo sa Pananaliksik.

With the theme “Veritas in Action: Advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals through Student Research,” the event brought together young researchers, educators, and distinguished guests in a celebration of inquiry, innovation, and impact. SIPAT 2026 featured an inspiring keynote message from Michelle Camille H. Correa, M.A., an MCHS alumna and a resident scholar from Curtin University, who encouraged students to continue pursuing research that responds to real-world challenges.

The colloquium showcased a series of meaningful and engaging activities, including the official launch of The Mother Mary Joseph Review (TMMJR), a faculty-reviewed research journal that publishes studies of MCHS Loyola Heights Senior High School students. The segment recognized the contribution of its student authors and faculty reviewers to its first volume and served as a platform for sharing student authors’ experiences and insights about research publication. One of the most anticipated segments of the event was the conferment of the Hallmark of Excellence in Research Award, recognizing MCHS-SHS Loyola Heights students who made exemplary contributions to student-led research and were recognized at national research conferences.

Attendees also explored the Research Poster Exhibit, which featured the studies of Grades 11 and 12 students in their research courses, such as Practical Research 1, Practical Research 2, and Pagbasa at Pagsusuri ng Iba’t Ibang Teksto Tungo sa Pananaliksik. The main highlight of the event was the parallel research sessions held in both the morning and afternoon. It featured 19 paper presentations where students demonstrated depth, rigor, and a passion for knowledge.

SIPAT 2026 stands as a testament to the power of student research in driving meaningful change and advancing global goals—truly embodying Veritas in Action.
