Programs
Strengthening academic programs remains central to Miriam College’s mission of delivering transformative education. This year’s directions emphasize innovation, internationalization, and holistic learning approaches.
Reinforcement of the MC Educational Framework. Scale up implementation of the enhanced Educational Framework across Schools and departments, ensuring alignment with course syllabi, assessment tools, and learning activities.
Strengthened Internationalization of Programs. Advance internationalization through formalized bilateral exchange agreements, increased outbound mobility, and the exploration of virtual exchange and Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) models.
Systematization of Project-Based and Service-Learning. Institutionalize project-based and service-learning by embedding them into course planning guides, supported by standardized rubrics and faculty training.
People
At the core of Miriam College’s mission are its people—the faculty, staff, and students who bring learning to life. Our initiatives seek to nurture their growth by strengthening faculty competencies, empowering emerging academic leaders, and deepening mentorship for students. Together, these efforts foster a thriving community where excellence, leadership, and holistic development can flourish.
Institutionalization of the Faculty Competency & Assessment (COMPASS) Framework. Developing faculty development roadmaps based on competency profiles. Creating a repository of faculty outputs and professional development records linked to the framework.
Empowerment for Academic Leadership. Nurture academic leadership by offering mentoring and leadership development programs for chairpersons, faculty coordinators, and aspiring academic leaders.
Student Mentorship Programs. Enhance mentorship initiatives that provide academic guidance, personal growth, and career planning, while fostering stronger faculty-student relationships, holistic student development, and peer-led systems of support and belonging.
