Dreaming is what drives us forward. My mother once held dreams of studying at Miriam, but circumstances held her back. I myself never imagined that I would have the opportunity to study at MC since our income seemed at odds with the tuition. However, our family’s determination persisted, and every experience in my journey has deeply impacted me, revealing the beauty of perseverance and the importance of resilience.
A friend and fellow MC student, Dianne Llena, ignited hope by encouraging me to apply for a scholarship. Her belief in the quality education and supportive environment here motivated me. Thankfully, I was awarded a scholarship and allowed to pursue my studies here.
For my parents, seeing their daughter thrive in such a prestigious school wasn’t a barrier, but a source of motivation. Miriam’s inclusive environment has enabled me to discover more about myself and strengthen my faith. Grateful for the love of Miriam, the community here has taught me the true meaning of family, inspired me to make a difference not just for myself but for others as well, fostering hope for a brighter future.
From a family of fish vendor parents who never expected all these opportunities, to a family full of gratitude and a perspective of never giving up, my “Kwentong MC” is not just about education; it’s about making the most of each day, the support of my family and friends as I reach for my dreams.
