On February 10-12, 2026, the Miriam College-Women and Gender Institute (WAGI) took part in the Module 3.5 Training on Women, Peace and Security organized by the ASEAN Institute for Peace and Reconciliation.
This specialized module went beyond theory—it demonstrated how the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) and Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) agendas can serve as practical tools to address the real-world challenges facing our region today.
Highlights of the session included:
● A deep dive into the core principles of the WPS and YPS agendas.
● A hands-on policy analysis workshop where participants worked on integrating youth perspectives into existing WPS-related policies.
● The development of country-specific action plans to turn advocacies into tangible programs.
The training concluded with a powerful vision: by building and strengthening this network of women and youth peace advocates, the goals of the WPS and YPS agendas will truly come to light. Together, we are building a more peaceful and inclusive future.
